The Knot

There is a legend about a complex and complicated knot. Known as the Gordian knot. The story surrounding this knot is that no one was able untie this knot until Alexander the Great. He reasoned that it would make no difference how the knot was loosed, so he drew his sword and sliced it in half with a single stroke. No one viewed the knot the way that Alexander the Great did. They saw it as too hard of a challenge.

I would never compare Jesus Christ to Alexandra the Great. Looking at this complex situation or knot so to speak, has given me a view of how God views sin. If you refuse to see your sin as God does, you cannot escape the knots of sin. If you want to deny your guilt or hide your own sinfulness, you'll never discover the cure for sin. Sin is abominable to God. He hates it (Deuteronomy 12:31). So he did something about it. He sent his son to die on the cross for us (John 3:16). There is no sin to challenging for God.Talk about swinging a sword!
